The University of Kentucky is seeking a Family Medicine faculty member, at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. This position will work as the Residency Program Director in the 4/4/4 rural family medicine residency program in Hazard, Kentucky.

Hazard is located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Our faculty teach residents in outpatient and inpatient settings and facilitate a rotation site for third and fourth year medical students from four different medical schools. Faculty physicians who practice non-surgical obstetrics oversee residents' deliveries of continuity of patients, and are working to currently adopt patient-centered medical home principles. The local hospital, Appalachian Regional Healthcare is a regional hospital and is the site for our inpatient service consisting of 358 acute-care beds. Our faculty and residents also provide services at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center, a 110 bed long-term care facility for veterans.

These activities, plus departmental leadership in Rural and Community Health, a practice-based research network, and departmental leadership in the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science, afford opportunities for faculty to participate in a variety of innovative programs. Required Related Experience

Must have at least 24 months of experience as a core faculty member in a n ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency program.

Required License/ Registration/Certification

Must be ABMS board certified in Family Medicine, and be able to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky.

In addition, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain clinical privileges accepted as a member of the active medical staff UK HealthCare and of Appalachian Regional Healthcare.
