Salary Range: Initial placement with a Master's degree can range from $65,268 up to $81,900 per year; and a Ph.D. can range from $74,784 to $87,420 per year.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possession of a Master’s degree or above or equivalent foreign degree in the category of disability, special education, education, psychology, educational psychology, or rehabilitation technology OR the equivalent (see below)
• Fifteen (15) semester units of upper division or graduate study in the area of disability
• Minimum of two years of full-time experience or the equivalent within the last five years of working with individuals with disabilities at the middle school, high school, or college level, identifying assistive technology to meet their access and/or learning needs, and providing instruction in its use
• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The screening committee will select for interview candidates from among those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, give evidence of any or all of the following:
1. An understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff
2. Knowledge of effective uses of a variety of assistive computer technologies such as screen readers and magnifiers, speech recognition, note-taking tools, and text-to speech software applications for students with disabilities
3. Successful experience in teaching or preparation to teach college level courses and knowledge of successful teaching techniques for adult students with disabilities
4. Familiarity with Windows and Macintosh operating systems and computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
5. Familiarity with state and national laws, standards, and guidelines that apply to the California Community Colleges with regard to equal access to technology and the provision of academic materials in alternate format for students with disabilities
