Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences' nurtures strong and healthy families, communities, and agriculture. We translate the best available science and evidence to change the lives of youth and families. Our faculty develop programs and conduct applied research that leads to healthy families and communities. Our graduates teach in formal and non-formal settings, work with non-profits, community and government agencies, and are employed in various fields of agriculture and in the human sciences sectors.
Essential Job Duties: This is a 9-month position for a term of possibility one full academic year (2017-2018). The primary responsibilities will be to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agricultural leadership. Also, included in the responsibilities is advising undergraduate students. This is a teaching position, with responsibilities including teaching 4 - 5 courses per semester. Position responsibilities would also include serving on department committees.
Minimum Education/Experience: * Master's degree in Agricultural and Extension Education, Agricultural Leadership, or a closely related field. * Experience in teaching at the university level.
Department Required Skills: * The candidate must hold the credentials required for a North Carolina teaching license.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * Doctoral degree in Agricultural and Extension Education, Agricultural Leadership, or a closely related field. * Three years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level. * Evidence of success in teaching and prior experience supervising student teachers is expected.
