Occupational Summary
Conduct a wide range of experimental procedures within the scope of our research projects at Duke University.

Work Performed Summary
Perform a wide variety of in vivo and in vitro experiments using specialized laboratory techniques and highly technical laboratory instruments and equipment. Knowledge of and expertise in transporter and receptor binding techniques, enzyme kinetic assays and determination of biogenic amines using trace enrichment, HPLC chromatography with electrochemical detection required.
Document and compile experimental results; perform preliminary analyses accessing data quality and discuss with the Principal Investigator.
Handle rodents and perform non-survival surgery including CNS regional dissections. Proficiency required.
Maintain multiple cell line for in vitro experiments. Specifically, PC12 cells during both replication and differentiation stages.
Make certain all laboratory supplies and equipment needed for a specific procedure are available.

Qualifications
Education: Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology or other directly related scientific field.
Experience: Prefer three years of research experience.
