Duties: The Graduate School of Education is seeking a Program Director to develop and implement a professional development certificate program focused on the core teaching practices of Project-Based Learning for high school teachers. The program will provide professional development opportunities to support the growth of novice and experienced Project Based Learning teachers.

Two central operational responsibilities of the position include: 1) leading a collaborative effort between the university and school-based PBL partners to design and implement a certificate program that will include a week-long summer institute and on-line programming during the academic year, and 2) The recruitment, selection and training of instructional coaches.

The project will include a research element, led by a research director, to study the impact of the program on teacher development and students learning. The program director will work in close partnership with the research director on all phases of the project. Other responsibilities might include supporting the collection of field data through interviewing, classroom observation, video recording and other techniques, and assisting in all aspects of program development and implementation, including design of data collection instruments, report writing, and representing the research team at meetings and conferences. The Program Director will also oversee the work of part-time staff and graduate students who will support the certificate program.

Position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications: Master's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. At least 5+ years of experience strongly preferred.

Experience with project management, experience in Project-Based Learning, and experience leading and designing professional development environments strongly preferred. Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills are necessary.
