MGR RES PROJECT B
Duties: The Research Project Manager will be responsible for the simultaneous oversight of multiple large, multi-year research projects in the Division of General Internal Medicine. The Project Manager will report directly to the Lead PI(s) and be responsible for assisting Project PI(s) in their duties related to the oversight and conduct of the PA Dept of Health project, as well as R-01 or equivalent projects funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the VA. The P.M. will function as the day-to-day manager of the research projects including overseeing the development of the study protocols, coordinating regulatory approval from the institutional review board and external agencies participating in the research, organizing study data collection, overseeing the budgets/grant expenditures/cash flow, executing subcontracts, coordinating activities of the project data collection teams and the statistical programming team; monitoring progress and timelines, preparing materials for interim reports, contributing to manuscript preparation and presentation; and addressing interim problems as they arise.
Qualifications: The minimum of a Master's Degree in Health Services Research, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field and 3 to 5 years of project management experience in health services research or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong experience working on research teams and directly participating in research studies.
Strong multitasking abilities and an extremely high level of reliability and dependability.
Experience overseeing and planning complex research budgets.
Previous experience supervising research staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain multiple internal and external relationships regarding research and administration.
Understanding of ethical issues related to human subjects research and IRB procedures. Prior experience working in large, complex organizations such as the University of Pennsylvania. Prior experience managing complicated research budgets with multiple sub-teams of researchers.
