Duties: The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is a complex R&D organization consisting of research laboratories supported by multiple core functions which provide internal capacity to perform gene transfer studies from basic research through phase 1 proof-of-concept human trials. The R&D enterprise has at its core a translational infrastructure that includes: technology discovery, specialized immunology assays operating under GLP, a Vector Core and Manufacturing unit that conducts GMP based assays and oversees CMOs in vector production, and a large NonClincal program for animal testing under GLP including large nonhuman primate and mouse vivaria.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Fiscal Operations, this position will provide assistance and back up support for all financial and administrative activities including purchasing, grants management support, service center billing and collections, and general office administration for the Gene Therapy Program Finance Division.

Duties include, but are not limited to: process credit card payments; process daily deposits; process and reconcile C- Form payments; review and enter purchase orders; PO encumbrance reconciliation; process journals for cost and other transfers; maintain established purchasing filing system and purchase order request form; assist with the review of sponsored program activity for compliance with sponsor and university policies and procedures; process incoming and outgoing documents; daily hand carry of documents to various University and School offices; maintain office equipment: telephones, printers, fax and copier; coordinate repairs and service calls as needed with vendors; maintain and replenish departmental inventory of office supplies.

Qualifications: The minimum of a High School diploma and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. College degree or coursework is a plus. Experience preferably at a higher education institute. Proficiency in MS office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. Exceptional organizational, oral and written communication skills. Meticulous and practical with a team player attitude. Candidate should posses the ability to manage time and work independently under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and judgment in setting priorities, as well as handling multiple tasks under pressure. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels. Experience with research grant preparation and knowledge of BEN Financials a plus.
