M&T ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Duties: Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Associate Director works with prospective and current M&T students as well as M&T alumni to implement and manage M&T Alumni Admissions Interviews, M&T Alumni Mentors programming, M&T Student Intern Fellowship Awards and the M&T Alumni in Residence Program. In addition to establishing, executing and managing the initiatives listed above, the Associate Director acts as liaison between Penn/M&T and M&T domestic and international alumni groups: attending events, assisting alumni leaders with event marketing, promotion and implementation, and offering guidance to alumni interested in creating new groups. The Associate Director plans and executes annual M&T On the Road Events, special sessions for M&T alumni during Homecoming and anniversary events. In addition, this role is the primary marketing and branding manager, creating and overseeing all social media strategies. This position provides career counseling to M&T alumni and students and assists recruiters and potential employers with on campus recruiting efforts. Assists M&T directorship in all functions of enrollment marketing and management. The Associate Director will have a close working relationship with the Admissions Office, Central Development, Wharton External Affairs, Career Services, and Alumni Relations. The Associate Director role will also manage students working with alumni and provide support and advise the M&T Club on their initiatives to interact with alumni.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required and 3 to 5 years of experience of relevant work experience within higher education and/or alumni relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred. Event planning experience a plus. Position requires initiative, strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated ability to work independently, with diverse groups and to balance multiple tasks simultaneously is required. Must possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, database management systems and basic accounting knowledge - training in the University financial software is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills and enthusiasm are highly desirable traits. Some evening and/or weekend work and travel required.
