Degree and Area of Specialization:
B.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Sciences or related field is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Experience in a research laboratory is required. A minimum of two (2) years of laboratory research is highly desirable.
Experience ordering lab reagents, maintaining lab equipment, contracts and regulatory records such as biosafety protocols, radiation safety and chemical hygiene plans is expected. Familiarity with cell culture techniques is highly desirable.
The successful candidate should be highly motivated and independent with excellent oral/written communication skills, and a proven record of working effectively as a team member.
The DeLuca laboratory seeks a Research Specialist to serve as a lab manager. The specialist will provide administrative support to a research team investigating the role of vitamin D. The successful candidate will be responsible for general lab management which includes maintaining lab stocks, ordering, lab organization and oversight. This specialist will be expected to be an active member of the lab.
Title prefix dependent on relevant work experience.
