Unit Job Summary: Research Professional: Works closely with Booth faculty member (Bryan Kelly) to manage and carry out research projects. Manage and facilitate research project(s). Builds and manages data sets, conducts field research, conducts statistical analysis, and edits research documentation. Ideal candidates are considering an application to PhD programs in economics, statistics, or related disciplines. This position is expected to last one to two years. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manages and carries out research projects. - Supports ongoing research projects by compiling and manipulating data. - Develops and estimates statistical models. - Writes, proofreads and edits drafts of research papers. - Maintains effective communication with faculty supervisor.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required. Coursework in statistics or econometrics required.

Unit Experience: A minimum of one year of research experience required. Relevant research experience preferred. Background in economics or related field preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Ability to train others required. Knowledge of research techniques or methods required. Analytical and problem solving skills required. Excellent and professional verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail required. Strong problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required. Ability to work well independently, as well as with others, and to meet deadlines under pressure is required. Strong quantitative background required. Strong computer skills, including programming, required. Familiarity with mathematical and statistics software such as Matlab and Stata required. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and SQL preferred. Interest in attending graduate school preferred. Strong GPA preferred.
