Job Description: The primary purpose of this position is to ensure uninterrupted, efficient, and sustainable functioning of hardware and software applications supporting the research regulatory compliance programs within REDE. The position works closely with the Office staff, commercial vendors, and ECU ITCS to install, operationalize, customize, update, and maintain the electronic research administration platforms within REDE. Additionally this employee serves as the Vice Chancellor's representative on the Information Resources Coordinating Committee and chairs the Research Information Technology Committee. This employee is responsible for determining how IT policy affects research initiatives at the University and will make recommendations as to how IT can be utilized to maximize research productivity. The employee is responsible for the division web servers and local area network (LAN). This includes software selection, installation, configuration and troubleshooting, as well as managing and assuring server backup operations.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and three years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position's role or a Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position's role, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position's role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
