Job Description: The Laupus Health Sciences Library seeks a highly motivated, energetic individual to work in the Access Services Department and provide support in Document Delivery as needed. Primary responsibilities of this position include covering the Access Services front desk, checking out items, answering telephone, placing items on hold and assisting patrons with basic information. This individual will also be responsible for library billing procedures. The selected candidate will be expected to successfully resolve problematic circulation transactions without presence of supervisory personnel, identify problems when users have concerns with library records (fines, overdue and lost items), make the appropriate changes to records, and pay out fines on users records. The selected candidate will also perform the following duties: Make independent decisions within the guidelines of Laupus Library. Serve as point of contact for Laupus Library during week days and select Saturday hours of operation. Review fines, fees and other Symphony records regularly to insure integrity and accuracy and make corrections as needed. Work closely with Joyner Library faculty and staff regarding billing issues and to exchange information regarding procedures and processes. Appropriately refer client reference questions and other issues. Create, update, and maintain integrity of library user records in Symphony ILS (Integrated Library System). Create and generate reports from Symphony ILS as requested to document collection efforts. Regularly check to ensure that collection methods are effectively working as designed. Manage invoice notices for overdue or lost items from the collection. Manage Interlibrary Loan billing. Train and supervise student workers to assist patrons at the Service Desk and other duties as assigned. Assist with weeding projects, shelving, and shelf reading as needed. Develop and maintain in-depth working knowledge of Symphony. Responsible for opening the library, initiating closing procedures including a security sweep of the entire library building, closing, and securing the library. These tasks demand high levels of responsibility and a mature professional demeanor.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations. Salary Grade Equivalent: 61 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
