Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's in Sociology, Political Science, or related field preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
This is an entry-level position. One year of experience training and supervising survey research personnel in a social science setting required. Experience with data quality control and project progress monitoring required. Knowledge of CASES Software desired. Tracing and locating, coding, and/or transcription experience preferred. This position reports to the Field Director,
Oversee Tracing and Locating, Coding, and Transcription field operations for the University of Wisconsin Survey Center (UWSC). This position will be responsible for managing the Tracing and Locating department and Coding and Transcription operations. Duties include supervising a small staff of tracing, coding, and transcription TE or Student employees who work on a wide variety of UWSC projects. Responsible for coordinating with Project Directors, Programmers, Field staff and the Field Director to develop project goals to meet study deadlines. Perform tracing and locating, transcription, and coding as needed. Train and manage tracing, transcription, and coding TE and Student employees as required to meet project goals.
