Alfred State is currently seeking applicants for an instructor of Culinary Arts at our Wellsville, NY campus. This position will instruct students in lab activities and lecture classes. Instruction of a la carte, institutional, and quantity food preparation. Train students in the proper techniques of food handling, equipment usage, sanitation, safety, menu planning and execution, dining room service, and other lab duties. Adhere to all aspects of the curriculum as assigned. Participate in department, campus, and college events, as well as professional development. The instructor will approach the daily activities as a working chef as well as an educator.
An Associates degree in culinary arts is required, along with seven (7) years of industry experience. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline, the National Restaurant Association ServSafe Managerial instructor/Proctor certification preferred but not required.

Applicant will present a 20 minute lecture on a topic provided by the committee. Applicant is encouraged to use visual and audio teaching styles.
