FSUS is located in beautiful Southwood, in the southeast part of Tallahassee. It was established in 1857 and is a K-12 Developmental Research/Charter School sponsored by Florida State University. It provides research and development opportunities for educators as well as providing a laboratory for teacher education. It has approximately 1700 students that represent a population typical of other school sites in Florida. It has strong programs in the academics as well as award-winning arts and athletic programs.
Responsible to the Director, Principal of a University Developmental Research School or other appropriate administrator of a State University. Responsible for planning and conducting classes for students in the Development Research School, including activities and learning experiences appropriate for K-12 students. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. Responsible for assisting with the supervision of students assigned to the school. Responsible for attending staff conferences and curriculum development activities. Responsible for involvement in action research, creative endeavors and service.
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and proof of eligibility for State of Florida Professional Educator's Certificate in World Language. Must maintain certification throughout employment.
Experience in or willingness to participate in coaching and/or facilitating extracurricular student activities.

Three professional references signed and dated within the 3 months prior to hire.
Proof of eligibility for Florida Professional Educator's Certificate in World Language.
Anticipated Salary Range
Salary range is $36,261.00-$62,350.00
FSUS salary scale is approved through collective bargaining and is based on education and experience.
This is a Faculty position.
Ten month appointment based on 214 days. There are 191 actual workdays with 8 hours each day. Some summer work may be required.
Criminal Background Check
A Level 2 fingerprint check is a condition of employment with the cost being the responsibility of the successful candidate. Recertification is required at 5 year intervals (at the employee's expense).
