College of Law Placement and Career Development Office


This position provides support to the Assistant Dean, Assistant Director and JD Advisors in the College of Law Placement and Career Development Office, to include operational oversight, administrative assistance, data entry, file maintenance, event coordination and assisting with on-campus recruiting programs.
Oversees office operations to include front desk reception, scheduling student appointments and assigning duties to OPS employees. Maintains all office files and serves as office liaison to other law school operations such as Administrative Services, Alumni Affairs and Student Affairs.
Assists JD Advisors, Assistant Director and Assistant Dean as needed. Maintains calendars and schedules, arranges travel and processes expense reports, and coordinates payments and/or reimbursements for non-travel expenses such as office and event supplies.
Oversees job data entry by part-time OPS employees into Symplicity software. Reviews jobs, new employer registrations and contacts before approving. Prepares and submits work to Assistant Director and intercollegiate job bank. Processes student and alumni reciprocity requests through other colleges and universities and maintains documentation of requests. Serves as reciprocity contact for office and reviews/maintains information on other schools' reciprocity policies.
Coordinates Placement and Career Development events, to include set-up and breakdown, tracking RSVPs, coordinating food orders, arranging staff for event and/or office coverage, collecting sign-in sheets and documenting expenses.
Assists with on-campus recruiting programs. Prepares gift bags for employers and information booklets for students. Sets up interview rooms and compiles final schedule with relevant application documents. Performs other tasks as requested by Assistant Director.


High School diploma or equivalency and four years of office/administrative and/or customer service experience is required, or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to four years.
Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent software, as well as Adobe Acrobat or similar software. Knowledge of proper office procedures and etiquette, and the ability to use standard office equipment, are essential.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally in writing; to work independently and accurately, prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met; and to maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, interdepartmental personnel and external constituents. Professional dress and demeanor are required.


Prior experience in an educational and/or legal office setting is preferred. Familiarity with event planning is also preferred.

Pay Plan

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.


Position is full-time, M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime hours outside of this schedule may be required for special events.
