Responsible for the day-to-day development and fabrication of a wide range of complex components, instrumentation and other equipment required for research projects. Ensures a safe working environment in all areas for all students and staff. Sets-up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required years of experience.
A valid Florida driver’s license is required.
Must possess physical stamina and be able to lift heavy objects.
Proven experience as a machinist with experience in general fabrication.
Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools (CNC) and machines (lathes, mills, water jet, etc.)
Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
Must be good at math with analytical abilities.
Welding experience preferred.

Anticipated Salary Range
$14-18 per hour, depending on experience.
This is an OPS/temporary Job.
Schedule is M-F, 7:00 -4:00, with one hour for lunch.
