Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 17,300 students.   • Provides operational oversight of the Office of Faculty Affairs, under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs;
  • Assists with recruitment of clinical and basic science faculty;
  • Identifies faculty for key roles at the medical school, including facilitator positions, course and clerkship directors, mentors, and advisory college directors;
  • Develops contracts and agreements as requested by the Assistant Dean;
  • Negotiates and implements contracts and agreements as requested by the Assistant Dean;
  • Performs any financial functions requested by the Assistant Dean;
  • Assures the maintenance of the faculty database;
  • Assures procedures for faculty appointment, promotion, reappointment, tenure and re-contracting are followed;
  • Counsels and advises faculty on appointment, promotion, reappointment, tenure, and recontracting;
  • Reviews tenure and recontracting packets and drafts letters as supervised by the Dean;
  • Organizes and runs the annual meeting of the faculty assembly;
  • Develops policies and procedures for the faculty;
  • Oversees appointment and election of faculty to the various committees of CMSRU;
  • Organizes and staffs faculty development programs and Medical Education Grand Rounds;
  • Assists with grant applications;
  • Works collaboratively with the Associate Dean for Diversity and Community Affairs with regard to programming for faculty who are under-represented in Medicine;
  • Communicates directives involving faculty at the request of the Assistant Dean;
  • Organizes the annual review of the faculty and the Chairs;
  • Organizes the Annual Report;
  • Responds to inquiries from individuals seeking faculty appointments;
  • Gathers materials for and crafts the faculty database for the LCME;
  • Develops plans of onboarding for educational affiliates;
  • Staffs CMSRU Appointments and Promotions Committee
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs or Dean of CMSRU

Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs of CMSRU


  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working as an administrator at a medical school or academic center, and working at a high level with faculty and/or health system executives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Must have proven ability to run a department.
