Essential functions of this position:
This position will be an employee of the Landscape Services Section, to perform skilled grounds maintenance to include new landscaping, irrigation installation, edging, pruning, mowing, general manicuring of all privatized housing areas, parking lot maintenance, trash pick-up and other associated duties as determined by supervisor or administration. Also, to function as a working crew leader for the landscaping of new areas and general grounds maintenance of improved land areas.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Pesticide applicator’s license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Agricultural background preferred
Background in maintenance of equipment, sidewalks and roadways
Certified plantsman and the ability to operate large equipment
A working knowledge of landscape maintenance and ability to operate large and small equipment
Ability to follow directions and learn new skills while on the job
Completion of grammar school and one year related experience
Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Valid NC Driver’s License
NCDA Turf & Ornamental pesticide license
Recruitment Range: $26,500 - $26,898
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 56
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 6:30AM - 3:30PM
