Incumbent is a key member of the application development team designing, implementing, testing and documenting line-of-business software. The incumbent conducts detailed systems technical analysis, participates in application design and development, database design and modeling for complex distributed applications. The incumbent is experienced with Microsoft's suite of development products (.Net, MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server etc.) and keeps abreast with emerging technologies.

Coordinate with vendors and individual departments within UCLA School of Law on identification, analysis and selection of applications based on the recommended Law School technology. Provide and manage maintenance, upgrades, and customization of the client-side portions. Perform analysis, design, and programming of new systems and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet end-user needs. Develop client-side code, test, and maintain applications using recommended software development environments, programming languages and programming standards.

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in building platform independent applications using Microsoft .NET, MVC, Entity Framework.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in building moderate to complex relational database in Microsoft SQL server, Oracle and/or similar DBMS systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of web based application development, including best practices for session handling, transaction processing, and data manipulation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in detailed technical analysis including system documentation and specifications.
  • Skill in maintenance of application reporting and resolution, as well as, working on task forces with users and appropriate staff to resolve problems.
  • Experience developing web and application schematics including user and data process flows.
  • Experienced with JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML5 and XML.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and its interactions with the ASP.NET and MS SQL environment.
  • Demonstrated writing skills to prepare technical reports, specifications, and technical documentation in a clear and concise format. Ability to proofread with attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work in a group setting, and to maintain cooperative working relationships with people of varied background and skills.
