Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry

Job description

Mount Saint Mary College, a private, Catholic, liberal arts school in the Dominican tradition, seeks a Roman Catholic priest for the full-time (12 month) position of Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry to serve the spiritual needs of the campus community primarily through presence on campus, liturgy, pastoral counseling, and administrative roles.  He will supervise the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry and will report to the college’s Vice President for Students.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Weekly meetings with assistant Director
  • Monthly meetings with Vice President for Students
  • Monthly Meetings College Coordinating Committee
  • Daily/Sunday Mass
  • Weekly confession
  • Various invocations/benedictions at campus events
  • Oversee the RCIA process for students
  • Departmental budget and purchasing
  • Supervise the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry
  • Employee evaluation
  • Sacramental records
  • Pastoral Counseling
  • Direct regular service opportunities through the office of Campus Ministry 
  • Institutional Mission training for employees and some student leaders
  • Participate in the Catholic and Dominican Institute Advisory Board


  1. Roman Catholic priest in good standing with his diocese or religious order
  2. Some experience in Campus Ministry or Young Adult ministry preferred
