Events Assistant (Two (2) Part-Time Positions)
Must enjoy working with diverse guests of all ages, have the ability to provide quality customer service, the ability to solve problems quickly and courteously, effective communication skills, ability to maintain composure and an assertive, friendly demeanor under stress. Effective computer skills with Microsoft Office experience and a high school diploma or its equivalent are required. Experience using social media and online calendar software preferred.
The Events Assistant supports the College’s Events Office by modeling and demonstrating the highest standard of excellence in quality customer service to guests that visit the MVCC Box Office and attend events in the College’s performing arts venues or other facilities on the Utica Campus.
Duties of an Events Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
Models and demonstrates the highest levels of quality customer service in all interactions with guests, patrons, and colleagues alike;
Responsible for day-to-day box office duties including, but not limited to, in-person transactions as well as phone calls and email communications;
Updates and maintains event calendars and social media pages as assigned;
Maintains cash boxes for the Box Office and Concession Stand;
Makes weekly deposits of incoming funds to Auxiliary Services;
Provides accurate knowledge to patrons regarding venue logistics (i.e. location of ticket office, restrooms, phones, concessions, coat check, etc.) as well as information about events, general building history, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
