Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with community based organizations that serve community members overcoming poverty required.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively utilize College databases and systems are required. 

Master’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with community based organizations that serve community members overcoming poverty preferred.

This position is grant-funded and it requires occasional travel.  Applicants must currently possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain a valid driver’s license throughout the duration of the appointment. 

Duties: The Community Resource Specialist - C3 aids students in their continuation and persistence of their academic goals by providing advocacy, assistance and ongoing case management by connecting students to community agencies, services and resources that address students’ non-academic barriers.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Identifies and provides direct services to students that are at-risk due to issues relating to poverty and in need of College Community Connections (C3) services and resources that include, but are not limited to, counseling in the areas of appropriate wrap around services, student advocacy and providing ongoing case-management;
         
Collaborates with College faculty and staff to identify early indicators of students that are at-risk due to issues relating to poverty, and to build greater program awareness;         
               
Represents the College and C3 Program with community based organizations, builds and maintains professional relationships with case-managers to expedite resources and services for students;
       
Utilizes College databases and systems to perform essential tasks related to direct student services;
                
Participates in the planning and execution of outreach events, both on campus and in the community, to assist students and families with accessing services and benefits, as well as the planning and execution of campus based community resource fairs;
      
Maintains accurate data, records and student files to document students’ needs and services/resources provided;

Other duties as assigned.
