The George Washington University (GW) School of Nursing invites applications for an Assistant Dean to provide academic leadership and supervision for the DNP Program. This is a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position, tenure track, to begin as early as July 2017. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Dean of the DNP Program will oversee the overall coordination of the various specialty tracks of the DNP program, while serving as a contributing member of the Academic Affairs Leadership Team. The Assistant Dean will assume leadership for overall DNP curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, assuring quality and adherence to standards and requirements of relevant accreditation and certification bodies, State Board of Nursing, and other relevant curricular and program standards. Additional duties include:
• preparation of accreditation and other relevant program reports; grant writing in support of the Program and School of Nursing;
• student recruitment, admissions, and advisement;
• development of informational webinars and other technology-based venues for information and ongoing program activities;
• teaching courses in her/his area of expertise;
• maintenance of an ongoing program of scholarship and dissemination (publications, presentations activities);
• community and academic service activities and participation in national, university, college-level committees;
• supervision of the DNP Program faculty, to include mentoring and supervision of new and existing faculty on teaching within the DNP Program;
• review and revision of DNP Program Policies and the DNP handbook;
• increasing the visibility of the DNP Program through presentations, publications, grants and through academic and professional service;
• and any additional duties that may occur as this position evolves.
An earned doctoral degree in nursing or a health related field; advanced practice certification in nursing; at least three years of clinical advanced practice level nursing experience; at least three years teaching experience at MSN level or higher; excellent organization and program planning and evaluation skills; experience with interprofessional collaborative education/practice; record of or potential for scholarly productivity in the field as evidenced by publications or presentations; and eligibility for an unencumbered license in District of Columbia and Virginia; and the ability to advance the university's and the school's commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching, and outreach with relevant program, goals, and activities.Advertised Salary: Other Benefits: Other Information: Special Instructions to Applicants:
