Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)
Requires license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, Master's Degree in nursing or completion of a course for Nurse Practitioner and certification as a Nurse Practitioner. One (1) year of full time working experience. Extensive experience with physical examinations and psychiatric assessments. Experience with psychiatric medication management. Experience working with mental health population.
Certified PMHNP (Psychiatric/Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner). Familiarity with study Trax or other systems for recording subject data. Experience working on a federally funded research project on a mental health related topic.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Nurse Practitioner will assist with physical examinations and psychiatric assessments of potential study subjects. Subjects who are eligible to participate will then be given a treatment plan to follow over the course of the study. The incumbent will monitor the subject's participation, assess their treatment plan, and adjust medication as needed. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team and should be well-organized with good problem solving and time management skills.
