POSITION DETAILS

This position will report to the Chair of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at The City College of New York. In addition to the overview duties, tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Manage office functions such as meeting schedules, calendars, work plans and communication for the Chairperson.
  • Maintain extensive files and records for the department.
  • Assist with the arrangement for the processes of placement examinations.
  • Provide administrative assistance to staff and faculty members that contact the department.
  • Collect enrollment data every semester and prepares tables.
  • Coordinate and set up departmental programming.
  • Manage and maintain various offices and rooms within the department to ensure optimal use for students.
  • Provide basic administrative and operational support for Language Lab as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficient in word processing, Excel, and other computer programs
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours

  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
  • May supervise office staff and student workers.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
