General Summary
The Department seeks to hire an advanced PhD student or recent PhD graduate to serve as instructor for up to four undergraduate Geography courses during the 2017-18 academic year. During fall 2017, and pending funding, spring 2018 semesters, the instructor would teach GEO 205: Living in the Environment, our introductory nature-society geography course and a large section of GEO 142: Human Geography, our introductory human geography course, which also fulfills a general education requirement.

In the fall the classes have been scheduled as follows:
GEO 205: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:35 pm - 4:50 pm
GEO 142: Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

These positions are represented by the non-tenure track faculty association and may have associated dues or fees.

Required Qualifications
1. Ph.D. or ABD in Geography. ABDs with substantial progress toward degree completion will be considered.
2. For teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
3. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.
