Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Visi etc.) equipment and software
  • Creates and revises production part prints as instructed
  • Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of dies (details and assemblies), fixtures and products
  • Drafts details on CAD system from sketches
  • Create and maintain CAD library of die designs and part prints
  • Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database
  • Load and maintain part prints, models and other engineering information to the ERP system (Plex)
  • Data entry as instructed
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
  • Makes simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to engineers or designers
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Skill Requirements:
  • Training certificate in computer aided drafting and/or equivalent experience
  • Experience to be at least one of the following
  • One year of full time assembly plant employment
  • One year of full time die maker/maintenance employment
  • Basic skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
  • Able to take direction and finish task in a timely manner
  • Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
  • Able to understand drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology

Physical Demands:
  • Exposure to industry accepted chemicals, and noise*
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
