The Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine ( seeks two (2) qualified medical educators to facilitate a variety of small group sessions. These may include sessions in PEARLS (our hybrid case/problem based learning program for first and second year students), physical diagnosis, communications, clinical reasoning, professional identity formation, and the bio-psychosocial aspects of medicine. The successful candidate will also participate in clinical learning across the four-year curriculum by longitudinally mentoring small groups of students and helping them individually to develop their clinical skills through instruction in the simulation laboratory and with the assistance of standardized patients  Faculty development and faculty guides will be provided for all sessions; ongoing faculty development is required.

Successful applicants must possess a MD or DO degree and be willing to engage in a student-centered curriculum with emphasis on learning rather than teaching.  Prior experience in medical education, particularly facilitating small group sessions, is desired but not a prerequisite. This is a part time position, with varying hours that will be scheduled based on curricular needs.  This position involves between 12-20 hours per week of student contact and faculty development.  Applicants must be flexible and be able to adjust their work hours to meet curricular needs that could change weekly.    Faculty appointment will be commensurate with experience.
