RESEARCH SPECIALIST B
Duties: Primary role is to assess extent of neurological damage in an in vivo model of central nervous system injury. Participate in animal studies involving swine. Perform surgical procedures and lead behavioral assessment studies. Additional responsibilities will include oversight on animal welfare, maintaining protocol books, overseeing equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and safety compliance in the lab. Develops new experimental protocols, and is responsible for working with collaborating laboratories to learn new methods, performing technically complex experiments, data acquisition and analysis, and maintains data records.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 1 year to 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Good organizational and communication skills, good work ethic, ability to work independently with attention to detail. Lab Experience and animal handling required. Preferred: experience tabulating and plotting data with excel.
