A full-time permanent faculty position in the Division of Paediatrics Medicine, Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto is available effective July 1, 2017.
The successful candidate will be an individual with a clinical and academic focus in general pediatric hospital medicine, including children with acute and complex conditions. Skills and experience in Quality Improvement/Patient Safety are required. Interest and experience in clinical teaching are core to this position. The Division has a highly regarded Hospitalist program, and a dynamic program in Complex Care, and is responsible for teaching all levels of trainees. The Division is also recognized for its evidence based clinical research program (Pediatric Outcomes Research Team) and for its Academic Paediatric Medicine Fellowship training program.
The successful candidate will have outstanding clinical and teaching skills and a strong academic record in Paediatrics. Further academic training or graduate studies and/or experience in either Complex Care or involvement in Quality Improvement work would be a prerequisite.
The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($210,000 - 280,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and may be eligible for a relocation package. All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in Paediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
