Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or DO, PhD or PsyD - Board eligible or certified in Neurology or PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program. Fellowship training or equivalent experience desirable

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Alzheimer's Disease, APA accredited Neuropsychology or APA accredited Clinical Psychology Fellowship training.

The faculty should be a neurologist or neuropsychologist who has advanced training or equivalent experience in research methodologies and social determinants of health. The faculty should have expertise in health services research, community-based participatory research, and/or other research related to health disparities and AD.

Academic credentials and experience for appointment at the selected rank of a non-tenure School of Medicine and Public Health track focusing primarily on clinical and teaching excellence. Appointment at the rank of associate or full professor rank requires meeting criteria for appointment level as defined in School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to associate professor or professor on the Clinical Health Sciences track.

License or certificate:

If a neurologist, licensed or eligible for Wisconsin Medical Licensure and board certified or Board eligible in Neurology. If a neuropsychologist, requirements include: a) a PhD or PsyD degree, b) ABCN/ABPP board certification or eligibility in clinical neuropsychology, c) Wisconsin licensure or ability to obtain Wisconsin licensure, d) APPCN clinical neuropsychology fellowship (or equivalent fellowship) experience.

Position Summary:

Clinical activities for a neurologist will involve attending duties in the outpatient memory assessment clinics at the UW Health clinics and other locations, and on inpatient neurology services at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, VA Hospital and AD. Clinical activities for a neuropsychologist will involve outpatient memory assessment and other clinics at UW Health. Research responsibilities include developing an independent, extramurally funded research program with a focus on health disparities. Teaching responsibilities include teaching medical student courses and clerkship, mentoring graduate students and trainees, training residents, fellows and medical students and teaching continuing education programs for physicians, neuropsychologists and the public.
