Job Summary/Basic Function:
Primary responsibilities will include teaching Health Information Management courses, advising students, and service to the college, community and discipline.
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences offers an Associate Degree in Nursing and Baccalaureate degrees in Nursing and Health Information Management.
Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, in 2006 Gordon was named a state college and developed select four year programs to address critical state needs. Gordon State College serves approximately 4000 students and has more than 120 full-time faculty.
The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia. Located approximately one hour south of Atlanta, students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center.
Master’s degree in Health Information Management or related field with 18 graduate semester hours related to courses in HIM. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching with special attention to needs of diverse populations, prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Preferred candidate will be flexible, innovative, highly motivated, and enthusiastic about student success.
