About the Position

The College of International and Extended Studies (CIES) offers programs dedicated to Access, International Programs, and Innovation. CIES' programs provide access to San José State University courses, degrees and certificates for students in Silicon Valley and from around the world.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, the Program Manager (PM) develops, implements, and evaluates courses and programs in both credit (degree, certificate, and courses) and non-credit offerings. The PM is responsible for all aspects the program offerings, including on-going quality (e.g., pedagogical soundness), operations, and financial feasibility and viability. The PM supports the Associate Dean in developing a vision for future programmatic directions to create new and viable programs to meet the changing and dynamic workforce and community needs.

In addition, the PM helps ensure the effective application of technologies to deliver courses and program in innovative and engaging ways. The incumbent implements and monitors programs with multiple delivery formats including face to face instruction, online learning, or hybrid education. The PM has a role in supporting instructors to achieve course learning objectives and program goals as well as supporting students' success in Extended Education courses and programs.
