The Monaghan lab researches developmental and regenerative biology of the axolotl salamander. The lab mainly uses genetic approaches to reveal how axolotls regenerate complex tissues including limbs and tails. This position includes assisting in experiments and lab management to facilitate research. The employee will perform multiple molecular biology procedures including gel electrophoresis, solution prep, DNA cloning, tissue processing and imaging, and animal care. The employee will also maintain lab inventories and equipment, assist with ordering supplies, and assist in animal room organization.
Position requires a BS in Biology or Chemistry. MS preferred. Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, good organizational skills, and ability to work without extensive supervision are also required. Experience with a genetic model organism is desirable but not required.
This appointment is funded by a grant received from an outside source. The duration of this position is contingent upon the continued availability of funding from this grant at its current financial level.
