Clark University’s Residential Life & Housing seeks a dynamic, customer service and student-oriented person to serve a first point of contact for Residential Life & Housing. The Office Manager will report to and assist the Assistant Dean for Campus Life in running the units of Residential Life & Housing and Student Leadership & Programming. The Office Manager will supervise the student office staff in greeting students, family members, faculty, staff and others outside the Clark University community. The Office Manager will also provide clerical and calendar support to office staff and oversee budgeting processes for the unit. Duties and Responsibilities Included in a range of responsibilities, the Office Manager will answer the telephone and direct calls, greet students and other constituents, schedule appointments, prepare memos, file, and work on spreadsheets. The Office Manager will hire and supervise student staff, including compiling and managing monthly resident assistant (RA) duty schedules. In addition, the Office Manager will manage the departmental budget, including purchasing and stocking office supplies, will support the summer housing operation for both students and conference participants and assist in Week One/Opening Day preparations. Qualifications The successful candidate must have the ability to handle a large volume of walk-in and telephone communication, to confidently answer frequently-asked questions and to communicate clearly, prioritize and be organized. A bachelor’s degree and previous experience in higher education, specifically working with students, is preferred. Technical qualifications include basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Outlook, CS Gold Access Management and The Housing Director housing management software. Training may be provided for candidates who need additional assistance with these applications. This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, 12-month position with a starting hourly rate between $15.52 and $16.52, depending on experience.
