INSTRUCTOR OF THEATRE

Job Summary
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts - Theatre is in search for an Instructor of Theatre beginning Fall 2017.
The Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a dynamic teacher to join a established and growing theatre program. Successful candidates should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and the ability to serve as director, teach - Introduction to Dramatic Arts, Acting, Movement/Dance, Vocal Production, Dramatic Literature, History of Dramatic Art and other courses as needed.

Duties
Teach Introduction to Dramatic Arts class, History of Dramatic Art (face to face and on-line). Also teach acting, vocal production for the theatre, and possibly movement classes and other related course assigned by the theatre coordinator and visual and performing arts department chair
Expectation for instructor to attend theatre student recruiting events and advise theatre students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside the classroom.

Qualifications
M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Theatre preferred; M.A. acceptable

Prior college or university experienced preferred.
