Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor this position is primarily responsible for routine preventive maintenance, minor repair of grounds equipment and completion of landscape construction projects.

This position also operates all Grounds related vehicles and power equipment; including end loaders, back hoes, skid steers, and various hand held equipment. Work involves heavy manual labor and is performed independently and occasionally under adverse weather conditions. This position will also direct the work of temporary employees and carry out experimental work for research using new techniques and materials.

As part of an overall sustainability initiative UW Grounds is committed to developing a Best Management Practice program base on sustainable and environmentally responsible methods of turf management. This position shall aid in additional record keeping, equipment calibration and training a successful BMP program requires.

6am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday, 30 min unpaid lunch break
