Advertised Salary:

Degree and Area of Specialization:

BS or BA in Genetics, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Laboratory research experience is required. A minimum of three years of laboratory research experience preferred. Tissue culture experience is required.

Experience with the following research methods is desirable: DNA and RNA isolation, DNA sequencing, Gibson cloning, CRISPR, PCR, qPRC, FISH analysis, confocal microscopy experience, ImageJ/FIJI, C. elegans genetics (optional).

Experience using data visualization and communication software and analysis is desirable (e.g. experience using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Excel, Endnote, Apple Keynote/Numbers/Pages).

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and science writing experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will be a highly organized, independent, and creative individual, capable of working alone and as a part of a team.



Position Summary:

The Skop Laboratory, a developmental cell biology and genetics laboratory, seeks a Research Specialist for a research project that involves determining the role of midbody-specific RNAs during mitosis. The Research Specialist's principal role involves characterizing the transcriptome of the midbody during mitosis.
