Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree is required; preferred focus in biological or health sciences, health care, or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
2 years of experience in clinical research or in a clinical setting is required.
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will join research team at the UW Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC) at 1 S. Park with a joint appointment to the UWCCC Float Pool located at the UW Hospital where they will be responsible for the implementation and conduct of multidisciplinary oncology clinical research. They will report directly to the Clinical Research Operation Manager at UWCCC.
In this role, the CRC will participate in Phase I, II and III oncology clinical research funded by national, federal, and private sponsors. The CRC will apply knowledge of clinical research methods and work closely with the treating physicians, Disease Oriented Teams (DOTs) at the UWCCC to meet research goals and generate scientific outcomes for each trial. This position will interface with other UWCCC DOTs, hospital personnel, inpatient teams, and outpatient clinics as necessary to identify, collect, and disseminate patient and protocol information.
As part of the 1 S. Park research team and UWCCC Float Pool, the CRC will be offered the unique opportunity to participate in a variety of research studies and be involved in many aspects of research coordination. It also provides an excellent opportunity for the CRC to work throughout the Cancer Center in a variety of disease teams with a diverse range of patients and diseases under changing circumstances and challenges, while enjoying the variety of working in different settings.
The selected candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to work with patients and health care providers. The incumbent will work independently and as part of a group on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing projects based on deadlines and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Attention to detail, time management and excellent organization will be critical to the success of this position.
- Prefix assignment will be determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of seven years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.
- TB testing and a Caregiver Background Check will be required at the time of employment.
