Position Summary: The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (GPAM) at the University of North Carolina is recruiting a 0.75 FTE fixed term Assistant Professor for BC/BE child abuse pediatrician or generalist to join the Child Maltreatment Section. This individual would be able to have a role in the outpatient and inpatient clinical consultation programs, resident and medical student education as well as outreach to rural hospitals and clinics. The Child Maltreatment Section is a diverse team including two board certified child abuse pediatricians, one generalist pediatrician, two nurse practitioners and four social workers. Depending on the experience of the candidate, additional duties may include a leadership role within a component of the Child Maltreatment Section. Opportunity for additional clinical responsibilities exists based on the interests of the candidates, but a majority of the work will be focused on various programs within Child Maltreatment. All faculty in the division engage in teaching and scholarship. Appointment will be at 0.75 FTE which will include full benefits. The GPAM division is the largest in the Department of Pediatrics and includes outpatient care, hospital medicine, newborn care, adolescent medicine and other affiliated specialty services such as development/behavior. The division has a nationally-known and productive research program in addition to a long record of teaching excellence.
