Minimum $75,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Minimum of MA or MS with certification as a Physician Assistant.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of one year of experience in a mental health setting or three years of experience in Family Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.

Experience working with a young adult patient population or in a college health or mental health setting preferred.



License or certificate:

Must be licensed or license eligible as a physician assistant in the State of Wisconsin and must possess a DEA license.

Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry preferred. Candidates without Psychiatry CAQ will be considered but must obtain CAQ within 3 years of hire.



Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant provides direct routine psychiatric care to University of Wisconsin- Madison students, including evaluation and management of patients. The provider must demonstrate a commitment to multiculturalism and serving underrepresented populations, follow agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA, and maintain accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations. Duties will be performed under the supervision of the Director of Psychiatry. The Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber maintains a collaborative relationship with UHS Staff Psychiatrists
