The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management (SPTE) at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time, 9 month, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the department. In addition to teaching responsibilities, engagement in scholarly activities is required. The individual will be responsible for mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will also provide service that is beneficial to the department, college, and university. He or she will be expected to help increase the national and international recognition and reputation of the department. The successful candidate must be student-oriented and possess strong leadership skills, which are conducive to building the premier program in sport and entertainment management.
The Department of Sport and Entertainment Management offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. The Department has approximately 850 undergraduate students, 55 master's students, and 11 doctoral students. It is made of 17 full-time faculty members and two staff, and is considered by many to be among the best programs in the country. The Department is unique in higher education with a comprehensive sport and entertainment business curriculum and a mission to develop meaningful relationships between higher education and the sport, entertainment, and venue industries. It has successfully developed multiple sport and entertainment industry partnerships.
Earned doctorate degree in Sport/Entertainment Management or equivalency.
Demonstration of strong record of excellent research and teaching.
