Responsibilities

Calibrate, maintain, and operate the Titan Krios, train Consortium Titan users, schedule consortium users, collect Titan data using the Leginon/Appion automated system; pre-process Titan data, make back up copies and keep records of data; handle Titan data logistics; help maintain the computational infrastructure for the Titan; have a strong working knowledge of transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Qualifications

A PhD with 5 or more years of experience and knowledge of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), preferably cryoEM. A recent graduate having completed their PhD involving data collection and analysis toward a 3-D image reconstruction, preferably single part but also electron tomography, would qualify.

Preferred

A PhD with TEM experience is preferred. Signal particle cryoEM, Leginon Appion System, Titan Krios operation, and direct electron detector experience are definite pluses; must be physically able to handle and change out tanks of gas (nitrogen, SF6, etc) as well as liquid nitrogen.

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
