Responsibilities

Performs daily, weekly, monthly, semi and annual preventive maintenance on all air conditioning systems within the resident halls. Servicing, cleaning and inspecting air conditioning units, heating coils, blower wheel assemblies, filter changing within an air conditioning system.
Routine service and repairs to emergency generators, including inspection of emergency generators and inspection/service to gas or steam fired boilers; repairs to emergency lighting, plumbing, exhaust ventilators as it relates to the operation of service and procedures of the preventive maintenance responsibilities.
Responsible for keeping accurate records of work performed and supervises helper as required.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position.
(Note: Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, electrical HVAC or other trade may substitute for the required experience.)
Experience in performing daily maintenance repairs in commercial type buildings such as plumbing, electrical and air conditioning trades.
Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
Experience and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Experience and the ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain.

Pay Plan

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This incumbent for this position is eligible to be on call.
