The Office of Residence Life and Housing seeks to provide undergraduate housing that is safe, clean, comfortable and conducive to student learning. Departmental staff develops, promotes and assesses programs, services, and staff interactions that encourage student development with particular emphasis on individual responsibility within a community setting. Efforts are directed towards establishing a living-learning environment where there is an appreciation of diversity, a respect for individual rights and a commitment to sustainability. Tour of Duty:
7:30a.m. to 4:00p.m., Sunday through Thursday
(Fridays and Saturdays as days off) Subject to change.
This is an AFSCME position and is subject to the terms of that unit agreement.
Position Type: AFSCME Classified Essential Duties
Clean campus property, empty wastebaskets, move and set up furniture, sweep walkways, vacuum, wash floors, move material and perform a variety of related indoor/outdoor general maintenance tasks. Perform periodic large scale project cleaning duties or maintenance projects.
Ability to follow instructions; willingness and ability to lift and carry heavy objects; willingness and ability to stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to deal tactfully with students, faculty and staff; physical stamina; ability to learn proper cleaning methods. Ability to read and understand “warning labels”.
