Essential functions of this position:
This position will provide data, analysis, reports and make recommendations to senior level management. The Financial Analyst is responsible for creating university financial reports and supporting the Business Affairs Division and the university with financial reporting and analysis. The position must apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as knowledge of university, state and federal regulations to determine viability of financial scenarios. Additionally, the position must identify trends and prepare solutions to mitigate risks. Analysis requires the compilation of student, HR, and finance data to best represent the financial position of the university. This work requires utilizing data reported by Institutional Research and Planning to develop financial reports for senior management.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
3 years university experience
Experience in writing financial reports
Accounting experience in GASB environment
Experience in financial data analysis
Financial reporting experience
Ability to transform financial data into financial reports that are easy to understand
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus
Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Four-year degree in accounting, finance, business management or other related discipline with credit hours in accounting and information systems
Minimum of 3 years university or governmental analytical experience
Banner experience
Budget experience
SSRS – Server Reporting Services Web Reports experience
Experience working with an ERP system
Programming experience

Recruitment Range: $70,000 - $73,590
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 78
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)

Work Days: Monday - Friday
