To design, administer, and oversee all aspects of the Law School's Academic Success Program; to serve a diverse range of law students, including, as appropriate, teaching classes (for-credit and/or non-credit), counseling and tutoring students on an individual and group basis, developing/implementing/monitoring support programs and services, and working collaboratively with the Director of Bar Preparation Programs to deliver an integrated and comprehensive program for student success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Design and implement an effective Academic Success Program, including strategies to assist all students, particularly students whose academic indicia are predictive of challenges in law school and on the bar exam by:
1. Creating and maintaining an open and welcoming environment for students and providing advice and counsel to students on issues related to their academic success.
2. Working collaboratively with faculty, the Director of the Bar Preparation Programs, the Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to assess and address current needs for programming and support.
3. Working with individual students to develop and execute customized study plans and strategies for academic success.
4. Tracking the academic progress of students, particularly at-risk students, to ensure that students are receiving necessary academic support services.
5. Providing advice to students on curricular choices for improved and sustained academic success.
6. Working with the Director of the Bar Preparation Programs in providing assistance to at-risk students, individually and in groups, as appropriate.
7. Hiring and supervising Teaching Assistants working in the Academic Success Program and providing assistance and training to Teaching Assistants working with doctrinal faculty, as needed.
8. Developing and teaching courses and/or workshops that provide academic support and skill development.
9. Coordinating instruction and assessments for Academic Success Program courses and providing feedback on student work product.
10. Participating in committees as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
11. Representing the law school at, and participating in, outside conferences and other events organized for and/or by academic support professionals.


J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission to a state bar in the United States, preferably Massachusetts.
At least 2 years of experience practicing law or delivering writing or other instruction in an academic institution or law firm.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in working successfully with diverse populations.
Familiarity with online technology preferred but not required.
Experience with academic support or bar preparation preferred.
Experience with curriculum design, including an understanding of educational learning theory, best practices in teaching pedagogy, and individual learning styles preferred.
Experience with assessment and data collection preferred.
A degree in education or counseling and experience in working with a wide variety of students, including those with learning disabilities and mental health issues, is an advantage, but not required. In addition, a deep interest in current research about how adults learn would be preferred.

Additional Information:
This position may be administrative or a non-tenure track faculty position with generous benefits. Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience and qualifications. Contract term 1-3 years, dependent on entering rank, consistent with University policy.
