Assistant Men's Tennis Coach

Position Summary

The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Michigan State University is looking for a candidate to fill the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach position. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with identification, evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes.

  • Assist in pre-season, in season and post season training, practice and competition.

  • Assist in all areas as they relate to the operation of the tennis program and the MSU Tennis Facility.

  • Assist the Sales & Marketing Office in coordinating a marketing and promotional plan for the program.

  • Participate in fundraising events.

  • Teach clinics and private/group lessons to the community at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.

  • Conduct free clinics/events to promote tennis in the community.

  • Represent the University at national, state and local professional organization events.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

Two years’ experience playing professional tennis or coaching men’s collegiate tennis. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with prospective student-athletes, student-athletes, staff and University personnel. Commitment to a responsibility for adhering to all the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
