Academic Program Specialist
Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of a function, program, and/or dept; assists in program planning & development; interpret, monitor, & analyze information regarding operating policies & procedures; administers budgets; & coordinate academic and/or staff personnel matters. Performs professional administrative support duties to upper level executive.
The Academic Program Specialist (APS) is responsible for coordination and administration of the Honors First Year Seminar including instruction and management of a cohort of Honors peer-mentors, who provide assistance to instructors of the course and support for enrolled students. They are responsible for this aspect of the Honors curriculum as well as continuous assessment and updates of course content and materials. The APS will work to develop a faculty/staff mentor program for the Honors living-learning community and will supervise all activities of the Honors Club student registered student organization. This position will provide academic advisement during peak advising times. May involve course instruction and other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience OR a High School diploma and 3 years of college coursework and 9 years of related experience OR High School diploma and 12 years.
-Master's or doctoral degree and experience with teaching in higher education settings
-an understanding of teaching pedagogy
-an understanding and experience with evaluation of teaching and learning outcomes
-experience supervising students
-experience with Honors programs
